cfbolz changed the topic of #pypy to: #pypy PyPy, the flexible snake https://pypy.org | IRC logs: https://quodlibet.duckdns.org/irc/pypy/latest.log.html#irc-end and https://libera.irclog.whitequark.org/pypy | the pypy angle is to shrug and copy the implementation of CPython as closely as possible, and staying out of design decisions

<marmoute> Hi again. from a slightly more stable IRC client.
<marmoute> So I did further testing etc and things seemed gleam (especially the overhead of computing content hashes with pypy) when I eventually got through the cloud cover.
<marmoute> Using a non-binary version of dulwich I have been able to run a "swh's git loader" with pypy notably faster than with Cpython
<marmoute> ~90m vs ~100m real time and 616.14 vs 883.52 User CPU second
<marmoute> I think we could leverage significantly more here. However that's better than 2× a slower I tend to have before :-)

<korvo> mattip: Thanks again for the tips. Everything seems to be working now, and I'm able to get back to hacking on my interpreter.
