cfbolz changed the topic of #pypy to: #pypy PyPy, the flexible snake https://pypy.org | IRC logs: https://quodlibet.duckdns.org/irc/pypy/latest.log.html#irc-end and https://libera.irclog.whitequark.org/pypy | the pypy angle is to shrug and copy the implementation of CPython as closely as possible, and staying out of design decisions

<arigato> ...aaaand the latest commit in https://github.com/nanjekyejoannah/cs.unb.ca-jnanjeky is "Delete ICOOOLPS23_paper_2.pdf"
<tumbleweed> hah, I know her supervisor
<tumbleweed> and I think she's been to pyconza a few times
<arigato> I see who she is too, I may have met her once? unsure if it was at pyconza or Europe
<tumbleweed> yeah, likely in Cape Town
<arigato> she's been interested in pypy stuff for many years now, but didn't do any direct contribution as far as I remember
<arigato> OK

<wbarnha> Hi folks, thanks for taking care of the PyPy project! Two questions regarding https://speed.pypy.org:
<wbarnha> 1. What differentiates "pypy3.9-jit-64" from "pypy3.9-64"? I'm guessing the compiler is always enabled unless manually set otherwise, which would explain the missing JIT marker?
<wbarnha> 2. What can I do to contribute to create benchmarks of PyPy against newer versions of CPython?
<wbarnha> Ignore my second question, I found the link after misplacing it: https://foss.heptapod.net/pypy/benchmarks
