cfbolz changed the topic of #pypy to: #pypy PyPy, the flexible snake https://pypy.org | IRC logs: https://quodlibet.duckdns.org/irc/pypy/latest.log.html#irc-end and https://libera.irclog.whitequark.org/pypy | hacking on TLS is fun, way more fun than arguing over petty shit, turns out

<slisnake> hello people, i'm playing around with pypy and asyncio, using aiodebug as a crude way of measuring worst case performance of calls
<slisnake> it seems pypy increases throughput overall, but im interested in improving worst case performance
<slisnake> compared to the usual python interpreter, i get messages like this on pypy:
<slisnake> Executing <Handle _SelectorSocketTransport._read_ready()> took 0.013 seconds
<slisnake> any advice for improving worst case performance / "latency" for asyncio programs running under pypy?

<cfbolz> slisnake: hey
<cfbolz> spikes latency can be GC, there are some tricks that antocuni used about that here: https://morepypy.blogspot.com/2019/01/pypy-for-low-latency-systems.html
