19:20 <PaulFertser> TomLovie: there were some special SoC based dongles back then but not anymore

19:21 <PaulFertser> TomLovie: also you can use OpenOCD to bitbang so e.g. RaspberryPi board can be used as a debug dongle running OpenOCD.

19:22 <PaulFertser> Some dongles are MCU or CPLD based and can be reconfigured to support different protocols. But no dongles run OpenOCD, yes.

19:49 <TomLovie> I will have to try it and let you know - I believe that I was trying to use STLINK, and it wanted to do a firmware update, and then it stopped, so I'm not sure if the firmware update has bricked it, or something else... thanks for your help.
