<hanetzer>
hrm. in theory, could one extend openocd to be able to flash emmc devices?
<hanetzer>
because, my understanding of openocd's flashing ability is that it bit-fiddles the flash memory controller of the device itself, so in theory the same thing could be done with other hw types?

Inoperable has quit [Excess Flood]
<PaulFertser>
hanetzer: yes, it can be possible, but usually people just upload u-boot to RAM and flash from there.
<PaulFertser>
There's some support for NAND and external SPI flash.
<hanetzer>
true enough. just a thought tho :)
<PaulFertser>
So no reason eMMC can't be supported. Just probably not very practical if it's easier with an existing tool.

PaulFertser, https://review.openocd.org/c/openocd/+/7119 any idea why this fails? I mean I see that there is a bug in the configure.ac file (stray '+') but I cannot reproduce with msys2 and mingw64 here
