<Wizzup>
yeah, the name trixie has also given me that impression a few times, but it's still easier to type than daedalus or excalibur
<Wizzup>
but chimaera and daedalus were worse than excalibur
<Wizzup>
the amount of types I have mistyped 'maemo/daedalus' or something is kind of silly
<sicelo>
:p
<dsc_>
yes me too

I wonder why sphone doesn't blank the screen during a call on the N900 even though iio-sensor-proxy does correctly respond to the proximity sensor

<arno11>
sicelo: you mean it is supposed to work with last updates or ?
<sicelo>
arno11: the correct iio-sp is not in Leste yet, but i am running a build that does support N900's proximity sensor. so it beats me why it doesn't seem to have an effect during calls

ah ok
<sicelo>
mmm, seems i should look in mce
<dsc_>
i wonder why conversations binary is 22mb
<dsc_>
maybe linking against libs that are only available as .a
<dsc_>
oh wait, non-stripped debug builds :P
* dsc_
wakes up
<sicelo>
Wizzup: would you be able to confirm if the screen blanking on active phone call is still working on the D4? i don't want to spend a lot of time tracking it down for N900 only to find it's broken globally
<arno11>
same for ringtone on D4 btw
<sicelo>
ah, found it... need to add `iio-proximity` in mce.ini, in [Modules] section
<sicelo>
works now (blanking during incoming call]
<arno11>
cool
<dsc_>
arno11: I made a conversations version without QML
<dsc_>
there will be 2 binaries /usr/bin/conversations and /usr/bin/conversations_slim
<dsc_>
perhaps on n900 this will make the chatwindow faster
<arno11>
sicelo: could you please check if there is no weird noise during call when the screen is of ? (if i blank the screen by hand, sound is a bit distorded actually)
<arno11>
dsc_: @no qml, oh really ? that's nice !
<dsc_>
its in daedalus-devel in a few minutes
<arno11>
ok cool, will try. tyvm man
<dsc_>
beware, the chat window is very basic ;)
<arno11>
np ;)
<sicelo>
arno11: mmm, ok. i've finished my credit on the SIM card. let me try with SIP call
<sicelo>
ah, but maybe that's not going to help for your intended test?
<arno11>
i think you can try with sip

just made a cellular call - the callee was busy and did not pickup the call. but the entire time that i kept the call going, i could hear the operator's IVR without a problem. no distortion
<arno11>
ok cool, thx
<sicelo>
really feels unbelievable that i'm daily driving N900 and able to make and receive calls without any major issues

<Wizzup>
is it getting stripped?
<Wizzup>
(22mb conversations binary)
<Wizzup>
dsc_^
<Wizzup>
ah you said that already
<dsc_>
yeah, I was stupid
<dsc_>
actual binary is 1.4mb
<dsc_>
stripped and all

<arno11>
amazing work man btw !
<arno11>
slim version is very fast and useful on n900
<arno11>
sicelo: ^ you should try :)
<arno11>
dsc_: and now i can use qt5ct tweak on boot with no issue with conversations
<arno11>
so tyvm
<dsc_>
arno11: but do you feel a difference?
<dsc_>
maybe window startup time
<dsc_>
chatwindow, that is
<arno11>
chatwindow starts immediately
<arno11>
i takes let's say 500ms now
<arno11>
even if i open several windows
<arno11>
vkb still works fine btw
<arno11>
and ram usage is a way slower
<dsc_>
cool :)

unless the socket stuff at the start prevents this?
<arno11>
i only changed xsession and slim version starts from the .desktop fyi
<Wizzup>
yeah looks like it

can you scroll with a gesture?
<arno11>
lol same question for me
