<arno11> Wizzup: sicelo: i didn't notice that starting cmt_pulse on boot decreases cpu usage to less than 50% instead of 100. it makes a huge diff from a user pov
<arno11> after few days using my device with cmt_pulse on boot, no troubles apparently
<arno11> latency is good, low cpu usage, no crash, alerting tone working
<arno11> only ringtone is a bit buggy but not n900 specific iirc
<Wizzup> arno11: great
<arno11> imo n900 is ready to be used daily now :)
<Wizzup> I still need to merge the pr, but yeah, it's looking good :)
<Wizzup> I've been using my droid with tp-ring in sphone and it's been fine too
<Wizzup> calls worked when I needed them
<arno11> nice :)
<Wizzup> sms from conversations
<Wizzup> brb ~15 mins
<arno11> have to go too, ttyl

<Wizzup> arno11: now building in -devel
<Wizzup> (cmtspeech)
<Wizzup> uvos: if/when we make the voicecallmgr a default on leste, we'll probably want to remove the shortcuts for 'sphone new sms' and 'sphone sms history', I think

<uvos> Wizzup: beyond the fact that i use sphones sms side on debian, with conversations takeing ~30mb resident ram i think it makes sense keeping it as an option on leste too, maybe even the default option on n900 for basic messaging at low resource use
<uvos> since loading the messaging side takes allmost no extra ram

<Wizzup> I think keeping it as an option is fine, but not default on n900, it'd be better to offer the same experience of the different devices, conversations on fremantle (rtcom-messaging-ui) using similar amounts of ram
<Wizzup> plus if n900 users want to use anything other than sms they'd still run conversations

<Gary__> I'm unable to make calls out using sphone on the pinephone, incoming calls work. The outbound call ends and reverts back to the dialer, any workarounds I can try?

<diejuse> Hello. While testing, the theme has been deconfigured when I open osso apps and in the terminal I receive an error about hildon-home "get_current_theme. The current theme could not be read. There is no such file or directory." Any easy way to fix it?
<sicelo> Gary__: maybe first step is to check if ofono is able to place that outgoing call itself. you may need to install `ofono-scripts` and use the voice call script as a test. if that call doesn't go through, your problem is not sphone
<Gary__> sicelo: Thank you! I'm on boost mobile(tmobile) so I set my set VoLTE profile for them. This still did not work but I think the wiki is missing a step to enable calling over VoLTE
<Gary__> I ended up running this to enable calling over VoLTE, (echo 'AT+QCFG="ims",1' | atinout - /dev/EG25.AT -),re-booted and now works!

<arno11> sicelo: if you have time to upgrade your N900, cmt_pulse on boot is available and works fine
rafael2k has quit [Ping timeout: 268 seconds]
<sicelo> oh sweet! i'll definitely try it before i sleep :-)
<sicelo> Gary__: please add the missing stuff to the wiki
<arno11> sicelo: for optimal result 'chrt -r -p 98 $(pgrep pulseaudio)' is still needed for multitasking ;)
<Gary__> sicelo: great suggestion! I'll go ahead and get an account...now makes me feel I'm part of the maemo team :)
<diejuse> anyone to help me...

<sicelo> arno11: yes, it works ootb. but the startup time of the GUI is out of this world. i wonder how we can profile it so we know exactly what's causing this
<sicelo> diejuse: i wish i could, but not really familiar with themes (even from Fremantle days). i'm 'boring' because i used only the two default themes in fremantl
<sicelo> maybe start by checking if the required theme files are available in the correct places?
<sicelo> seems they should be under `/usr/share/themes/`
<sicelo> arno11: of course i do use a 'slow' card, so i guess that plays a major role too
arno11 has joined #maemo-leste
<arno11> sicelo: yes a slow sd can't help but even with a fast card it takes at least 3 min to be usable
<arno11> no idea how to profile this
<arno11> and there is no core dump generated on boot btw
<arno11> i compared Fremantle-Leste xsessions and there are pretty similar

<arno11> and btw starting leste from a uImage with overclock (on boot) is at least 3x faster with just 200 more MHz
