I'm an embedded dev. I wanted to contribute some drivers to the linux kernel just to get my name out there. Had considered perhaps a GPIO chip or two, but found drivers for those already. In fact, all the peripherals I needed to use this past year had the drivers I needed.

Any ideas on the kind of meaningful contribution that a strong C developer with some embedded kernel hacking experience could make?

I've watched GKH deride "spelling fix" type commits in presentation after presentation, I'm not looking to contribute just to say I did.

ecdhe: if doing it for fun, then work on something you can use yourself for some project :)
