<jmabsd> Hi all, what is the cheapest ARM64 and RISCV64 board with an M.2 PCI connector, ability to hook it to Power over Ethernet, and maybe 4GB or 2GB RAM?
<jmabsd> what are good channels to ask this question
<jmabsd> About the Power over Ethernet part, I think a separate module can solve it. It will feed USB PD. So just a ARM64/RISCV64 board with an M.2 22x80mm PCI connector and 4GB or 2GB RAM.
<jmabsd> low watt consumption when idling if possible.
<jmabsd> the way, if you skip the PCI requiremenet and only demand two USB3 connections and 4GB or 2GB RAM, what's the cheapest SBC then?

<jmabsd> Hi all, which RK3588 SBC:s exist with 2.5gbit Power over Ethernet built in already?  I'm aware of Rock5B+
<jmabsd> Any more?

<jmabsd> The RK3588 actually has dual 2.5gbit ethernet phy:s from the SoC, so the two 2.5gbit ethernet connectors on "NanoPC-T6" will have good speed and not be routed via USB right? https://www.friendlyelec.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=292
<CounterPillow> The RK3588 does not have 2.5Gbit/s NICs. On the Rock5B, it uses a PCie Realtek NIC for that
<jmabsd> CounterPillow: Oh. Hm. What chip is used on the NanoPC-T6?
<jmabsd> Will google it. I like to understand performance.
<jmabsd> The "NanoPC-T6" has one 4-lane PCIe v3 M.2 22x80mm slot, and then two smaller slots that are single lane PCI I think.
<CounterPillow> the smaller slots are 1 lane of PCIe 2.1
<CounterPillow> they're from the combo phys

<zeha> wiki says rtl8125bg
<jmabsd> https://wiki.friendlyelec.com/wiki/index.php/NanoPC-T6 says "Ethernet: 2 x PCIe 2.5G Ethernet"
<jmabsd> zeha: oh nice. URL?
<jmabsd> I also wonder if the NanonPC-T6 can be powered via USB PD
<CounterPillow> Everything will basically be those realtek PCIe NICs, they work fine.
<jmabsd> Looks like via barrel only, "About Power    Power supply via 5.5*2.1mm DC Jack. 5V~20V, 12V is recommended."
<jmabsd> CounterPillow: For sure better than Intel I225, which is a broken chip.
<zeha> just scroll down on that page
<jmabsd> Ah right it says "Optimized r8125 performance and stability".
<jakllsch> what's wrong with i225/i226?
mx08 has quit [Quit: WeeChat 3.8]
<jmabsd> Ah here is how the Radxa POE HAT looks on the Rock5B(+), great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzKJ2_lPxZ8
<jmabsd> jakllsch: i225 is buggy hardware and should never be used, any revision. i226 is the i225 with finally correct fixes to the design.
