alpernebbi: I'm trying u-boot out again, this time it loads from SPI without coreboot just fine (CONFIG_SPI_FLASH_WINBOND did the trick indeed), but still no graphical output

not seeing anything when shining a light on the screen either, so I'm guessing it's not just missing backlight.

hm, it also doesn't boot linux successfully, unlike the coreboot+u-boot build. Not sure why, but the pure-u-boot build only prints out "Starting kernel ..." and that's all

the default stdout/stderr is 'serial,vidconsole' so try that if you haven't

and try booting Linux with efifb=off in the kernel cmdline, maybe that's the same rockchipdrm issue that people have on pinebook pro
