There has been several PLL reliability issues with g12/sm1 SoC. HiFi, sys (dvfs) and now PCIe. There was no such problem with earlier generations.

My guess is something is missing in the init sequence to help with the lock. I would not be surprised if was something like the self-adaption current module, like the a1

jbrunet: Per my understanding, self-adaption current module is new PLL feature starting from A1. But I suppose we can ask Amlogic about it directly or check vendor reference driver. We have production devices based on sm1/g12, I can try to confirm it internally.
