<massoud> Hi there, i am joining here as i have a question regarding the s905x4 SoC linux drivers
<massoud> is there an existing HDMI ARC (audio return channel) for the eARC interface of the chipset ?
<massoud> the idea is to use the return audio data and forward to another chipset interface
<narmstrong> massoud: sorry the S905x4 SoC is not plublic yet (except some android STBs), and we don't have any clue about the HW
<narmstrong> EARC seems to be present on S905X3, but it's not documented
<massoud> narmstrong: thanks for your quick feedback and I dont have access to internal documentation for the EARC bloc yet but looking if similar driver exists for other amlogic meson socs
<narmstrong> yes the S905X3, but doc is not present
<massoud> the idea is to get the EARC audio samples and feed and I2S ouput
<massoud> i am looking at the linux meson device trees currently to see similar drivers
<narmstrong> earc.c earc_hw.c earc_hw.h
<narmstrong> but it would need to be ported on the upstream asoc structure
<massoud> narmstrong: thanks for the pointer! looking now
<narmstrong> I was wrong, you have the registers in https://dl.khadas.com/Hardware/VIM3/Datasheet/S905D3_datasheet_0.2_Wesion.pdf
<massoud> narmstrong: thanks looking
<massoud> interesting i would guess the X4 EARC RX structure is similar to the D3 one, output of the PHY looks like an SPDIF interface sending the stream to a RAM space
<massoud> https://github.com/khadas/linux/blob/khadas-vims-4.9.y/sound/soc/amlogic/auge/earc_hw.c <-- if we can find how the earc rx buffer can handle to process it elsewhere
<narmstrong> it goes to the toddr module, which is already supported
<massoud> narmstrong: ah sorry could you point me to the toddr module ?
<massoud> thansk a lot
