which is better? cheap webcam 1080p or cheap video capture dongle for recording a Kiss linux installation?
sjalv has joined #kisslinux
<Doomking>
i'm leaning more towards the cheap video capture dongle since both options will require another computer

<icebarf>
does kisslinux firefox remove drm playback ability?
<riteo>
Hi folks, sorry for the delay
<riteo>
Doomking: Kind of. I'm trying to keep the setup as minimal as possible while having a reasonable (for me) amount of features. In my case that means flatpak and XDG portals, which imply Dbus.
<riteo>
I had to do this both for muh games (I got tired of dualbooting arch just for that) and most importantly for telegram-desktop, as it's hell to package and telegram web is the most horrible thing I've ever seen
<riteo>
as sad_plan pointed out, being minimalist is not using the web. I'll happily take three daemons (XDG portal daemons) and an user-wide IPC bus solution if that means using a web browser less
<riteo>
Web browsers are that evil. I put a power meter in my status bar and it would consistently rise significantly when using telegram web. I wonder how would the web be if javascript got out of the equation. I think I could almost tolerate HTML5 and CSS alone.
<riteo>
(hoping that you'll read the logs when you come back)
