Using foot with a transparent background (alpha=0.3), and that alpha value used to apply whether foot was windowed or fullscreen. About a year and a half ago that changed, and now the background goes black when I fullscreen the foot window. I've looked through the man page for foot.ini and didn't find any way to configure the behavior. Is there anyway to maintain the alpha setting when the foot is in
<taylor85345>
fullscreen?
<taylor85345>
I meant to say that the background goes opaque, not specifically black
<dnkl>
not possible. The protocol nandates a uniform background, which means there's little point in being transparent.
<dnkl>
some compositors ignore this, and do allow transparency, but we don't support that, for the reasons mentioned above
<taylor85345>
I see. Well thanks for letting me know

thoughts on xdg-toplevel-icon-v1? Should we use the app-id as icon-name, whatever the app-id is? Or just hardcode it to "foot"? https://codeberg.org/dnkl/foot/pulls/1832

<vyivel>
is there a reason to show non-foot icon for foot?
<vyivel>
if no, hardcode to foot
<delthas>
yes, use the app-id as the icon name
<delthas>
thats the purpose of the app id spec :)
<dnkl>
if we do use the app-id, we'll have to special case "footclient". No big deal, just a "don't forget this"

Hey, I'm having trouble building from source
<snake_case_man>
Getting the following error: `Program /usr/bin/wayland-scanner found: YES (/usr/bin/wayland-scanner)
<snake_case_man>
meson.build:175:2: ERROR: Sandbox violation: Tried to grab file xdg-shell.xml from a nested subproject.`
<dnkl>
i would guess on an outdated meson version

Probably, I'm using apt after all
<bookworm>
you can fetch meson from pypa
<bookworm>
it's a python package
<snake_case_man>
Yeah, fixed now (y)

Any tips on getting Super+c mapped to copy?
