<Guest1279>
HI, and thank for a great app! Does foot support undercurl line for text decoration?
<dnkl>
Guest1279: I assume you mean Kitty's extended underlines? I.e. curly, dotted and colored...?
<dnkl>
Guest1279: if so, no, it doesn't
<Guest1279>
dnkl, yes exactly, thank you. And as far as I know, not only kitty support this feature: xfce4-terminal, gnome-terminal, terminator, tilda. Any plans to add it in the future?
<dnkl>
Guest1279: I'd say it's undecided. No one has asked for it (until now). There's a real technical challenge to implement it, without greatly increasing the run-time memory usage, or losing performance.
<Guest1279>
dnkl, it's strange that I'm the only one )). I suppose it's heavily used feature for vim/neovim - syntax highlighting
<dnkl>
Guest1279: my guess is most users have migrated to foot from terminals that also don't support curly underlines... What you don't have you don't miss :)

dnkl: seems like freenode has gone full North Korea now

<cbb>
I didn't think they'd go as far as de-oping channel owners
<dnkl>
cbb: *and* silencing them...
<dnkl>
but yeah, don't know what I was expecting, but not this...
<lanodan>
I was more expecting it to crumble down on the technical&hardware aspect
<dnkl>
I'm very very close to dropping my account there. More or less just safe-keeping the nick for now...
<lanodan>
I guess a 4-letters nick is quite precious?
<dnkl>
lanodan: don't know about that... my freenode account is only ~2 years old
<dnkl>
I guess the fact that my nick cannot really be pronounced is a factor...
<cbb>
I wonder if any open source projects have actually stuck aorund on there?
<cbb>
around*
<dnkl>
cbb: all channels I was in has moved. Not that there was a lot of them...
<dnkl>
I think alacritty is still there?
<lanodan>
I was on 100+ channels on freenode, pretty much all of them moved.
<cbb>
lol
<dnkl>
lanodan: yikes
<cbb>
I've never seen such a large place hollowed out in such a short period of time
<lanodan>
I think #!/bin/mksh and #ed is still on freenode
<dnkl>
cbb: it wouldn't have surprised me if there had been more reliability/stability issues with libera, but they seem to have handled it pretty well
<lanodan>
(maintainer of mksh somehow still doesn't have TLS 1.2)
<cbb>
dnkl: yeah I was expecting more stability problems
<cbb>
but I guess it's mostly the same staff as before
<lanodan>
It's basically the exact same staff
<dnkl>
sure, but there must have been a massive amount of new users in a very short time frame...
<dnkl>
+ the spam bots
<cbb>
have they said how they're funding the hardware?
<dnkl>
I haven't heard anything substantial

cbb: regarding https://codeberg.org/dnkl/foot/issues/549, I'm thinking a new section, "terminfo"(?), in foot.1.scd is the right place to document both 'foot' and 'foot-direct'
yyp has joined #foot
<cbb>
dnkl: yeah, that seems reasonable
<cbb>
that's where the -t option is
<dnkl>
exactly

dnkl: maybe adding an "environment" section would be useful too
