<scrroll>

scrroll: probably a whole pile of reasons; doing that kind of rails-like dev in crystal is frustrating with generally bad cost implications for 99% of rails work, crystal attracting devs more likely to actually be fine closer to sql, nobody getting paid to fight the type system in that way, they might not even be abandoned just working quietly, etc.

when i've done sql-touching work in crystal i haven't reached for an orm because i knew out front it wouldn't solve my problem (postgres listen/notify, select for update skip locked, etc.) and when i've done work that an orm would really help with i'm generally doing it in rails because my hours are more expensive than servers
