23:08 <beerman> since i am just on my notebook.. so i3status-rust uses pm-utils to display my battery status. however, I use poweralertd to have a notification which depends on upower and that works as well. upower -m actually shows accurate states of my charger etc, so I see nothing wrong with the port itself either.
