<ivandi> about 3.7, bindutils and iputils can be moved to core. all dependencies are met. having ping and host in core would be nice.
<SiFuh> I wondered where there were no decent bind ports (Not bind utils). I was suppose to ask if there were alternatives out there. I ended up making my own but never published it.

<jaeger> Did we ever decide what to do to fix the bsdtar locale issues with pkgmk for 3.7?
<jaeger> specifically:
<jaeger> =======> Building '/src/ports/core/gcc/gcc#11.2.0-1.pkg.tar.xz'.
<jaeger> bsdtar -p -o -C /src/ports/core/gcc/work/src -xf /src/ports/core/gcc/gcc-11.2.0.tar.xz
<jaeger> bsdtar: Pathname can't be converted from UTF-8 to current locale.
<jaeger> bsdtar: Pathname can't be converted from UTF-8 to current locale.
<jaeger> bsdtar: Error exit delayed from previous errors.
<jaeger> =======> ERROR: Building '/src/ports/core/gcc/gcc#11.2.0-1.pkg.tar.xz' failed.
<jaeger> In my admittedly limited testing it seemed like removing the LC_ALL setting from pkgmk was enough but it remains to be seen if that causes new issues
<beerman> You need glibc first that will contain the C.UTF-8 locale

<jaeger> Should have that already, it's in core/glibc in 3.7
