<Romster>
unless there documentation is wrong as it was working but it still redirects but now it redirects to a 404
<Romster>
dang i didn't see harfbuzz xz
<Romster>
and to heck am i gonna do this for over 100 ports https://crux.nu/gitweb/?p=ports/contrib.git;a=commitdiff;h=bf7fa741bce4cb414ae82b500dc32a72796788d2
<Romster>
to make it clear nope that's just going to be pain that way.
<beerman>
i prefer handling the renaming part on our side, and this is where things seem to go anyway.
<Romster>
unless github fix there issue
<SiFuh>
awry
<Romster>
perhaps some other github ports need to be checked for releases
<beerman>
well if i can avoid having to redo large heaps of my ports that would be fine, in the long run i would look into changing them to use the rename scheme (if there is no release attached or anything)
<Romster>
not angery at you SiFuh but if we did the commits for all of them we would have to update that said commit every time and then what is the point of the version= in that case.
<beerman>
i already prefer releases when there are any, but a lot of times there aren't, and then there is projects that don't tag releases at all.. just tags
<SiFuh>
No I saw awry not angry

<Romster>

<Romster>
hope github gets back to me sooner than later.
<SiFuh>
We all do
<Romster>
i know
<Romster>
after 1am i need to get to bed.
<SiFuh>
But it may be a blessing in disguise for CRUX to adapt and change and introduce git or a renaming scheme
<jue>
Romster: good night, sleep well :)
<Romster>
maybe it is time but i'd like to try github either editing the documenation to remove tags or fix there brokeness that was working, before option b
<Romster>
my two cents
<SiFuh>
I agree, but we all knew it was destined to end eventually
<jue>
+1
<Romster>
i think i've matured heaps to when i first joined here, (i was a bit of a menace at first)
<Romster>
true SiFuh
<Romster>
nite
<SiFuh>
Menancing spelling there
<Romster>
oops
<SiFuh>
I think we wait a little, but take it as a wake up call.
<Romster>
agreed
<SiFuh>
And we should seriously adapt, or introduce new features
<Romster>
we don't need feature creep if we can help it, and will do jue
<SiFuh>
introducing git as a form of URL is not what I call a feature creep
<SiFuh>
More of a neccessity
<SiFuh>
And to be honest, would save all of our time if a common, modern system was introduced
<SiFuh>
CRUX is really still using http/https and ftp
