<jaeger> Yeah, more expensive than some boards but seem to be decently powerful
<pitillo> it is... but these last 2 years with the semiconductors breakage... hurt a lot (ARM had a big demand, but I feel that riscv arch is in the same shape... more peopñe demanding low powerd devices/SBC)
<pitillo> s/peopñe/people
<jaeger> yeah

<jaeger> One of the reasons the VisionFive 2 was more interesting than some of the cheaper boards is the quad-core CPU vs. single-core
<pitillo> yeah! and the expansions (2 ethernet, 3d gpu, supported by 5.15 kernel...) it has lot of advantages IMHO vs cheaper boards (i'm speaking from what I remember)
<pitillo> when I thought in getting one riscv sbc, I left the idea due to lack of time and money, and I started thinking in emulation, taking our toolchain, adapt it to riscv and cross build a kernel + busybox (just to put hands on riscv toolchain)
<jaeger> Part of what got me interested in this was reading about a risc-v emulator implementation, heh
<jaeger> The open ISA concept is pretty cool
