jaeger changed the topic of #crux-arm to: CRUX-ARM 3.6 Released! - http://crux-arm.nu/Documentation/ReleaseNotes3-6 | Logs: https://libera.irclog.whitequark.org/crux-arm/
<beerman> it finished the compiler toolchain thrice, now i will rebuild the rest of core
<beerman> all finished, but https://dpaste.org/aZgMX
<beerman> both prt-get and pkgutils need their signature fixed
<beerman> nftables doesn't seem to need the overlay, the new version builds without issues from core
<beerman> distcc is just a python footprint mismatch
<pitillo> great
<pitillo> which overlay needs to update signatures?
<beerman> core-arm64
<jaeger> Hrmm, I kinda want to get a khadas edge 2
<beerman> looks nice 😄
<beerman> whats stopping you?
<jaeger> I don't NEED one :)
<beerman> oh well 😄
<beerman> anyway, in regards to ports, i am looking at llvm and rust next first, pitillo you should be able to expect PRs for that tomorrow, I guess
<beerman> the container is very roughly setup, but should suffice to build a few starters
<beerman> and in regards to mindless purchases: the ox64 i bought.. I have no idea what I will end up doing with it yet. The support is just getting there, but when it lands there should be plenty of oportunities to use it
<jaeger> I'd be lying if I said all the gadgets I have were needed, heh.. it's just a lot more expensive than a lot of other SBCs
<jaeger> Seems pretty impressive, though.
<beerman> yeah... I try not too hord too much stuff, yet i still have the raspberry pi 1b around for i don't know what
<beerman> the ox has so much potential, especially at this price point
<jaeger> I use a first gen rpi zero to open my garage door :)
<jaeger> It's painful for anything intensive but it can activate a relay from a web API pretty well
<beerman> heh 😄 yeah something like that
<beerman> i am still thinking about building my own atomic clock authority with it, somewhere i picked up its rather easy with a usb gps dongle
<beerman> because you can never be on time enough, i guess 😄
<beerman> are you doing any more smart home stuff?
<jaeger> I do dumb home stuff, heh. No IoT devices, no cloud phone home
<jaeger> My garage door opening setup runs a small flask app and nginx on the rpi zero and only works from my phone either on my wifi or connected to my home network via VPN
<beerman> i only do local stuff too, but still, zigbee actors mostly, a few esps with tasmota, and a home assistant installation to tie it together nicely
<beerman> ikea gets you started real quick
<beerman> just don't think about buying their gateway, or any other proprietary gateway (like hue..)
<jaeger> I might one day expand to a few more things but for now just the garage door opener and I've started working on a simple sprinkler system controller
<beerman> cloud is really not needed, the only thing i succumbed to is the google assitant because "its just super convieniant" 🥲
<beerman> you can still connect that to your local setup though, and then it can remind you if you left the fridge open
<beerman> or the garage door, fwiw 😄
<jaeger> yeah
<beerman> but yeah, my setup depends on a few docker containers running on my nas, so if they are out, all the convenient things don't work any more. luckily it has been runnign rock solid for a year now, with moving from that one pi to the x86_64 host
