like lets suppose i wanted to create my own PCB using identical components from the beaglebone xm or beaglebone black, could I still buy the parts, does TI still offer support?
<nakbas>
hello

<vagrantc>
i don't know that ti ever really offered support, per se ...
<vagrantc>
the beagleboard.org folks have some fairly recent risc-v hardware developments ... there is still activity
<vagrantc>
not sure how involved TI is...
<nakbas>
vagrantc: At one point TI definitely offered support. I used to work at TI and worked closely with the beaglebone XM business.
<nakbas>
risc-v is that the open source architecture?
<nakbas>
If am not mistaken, NXP uses RISC-V architecture correct?
<vagrantc>
yeah, risc-v has some open hardware elements to it ...
<vagrantc>
not sure who all uses risc-v ... lots of companies are
<nakbas>
vagrantc: which companies would you say? I would say most companies use ARM?
<vagrantc>
i mean, i know TI backed the beagleboard community in various ways...
<nakbas>
vagrantc: thank you. That sounds correct.
<vagrantc>
irc has been fairly quiet lately, though ... would not surprise me if there is some other more wideles used chat technology ... or beagleboard is a bit quieter these days.
