Hi all, is there a way to increase the size of a /var/log which is backed by /dev/zram1 , this is on an orangepi zero 2 , I have to redo mine but can't recall how I did this

based on hhttps://www.kernel.org/doc/html/next/admin-guide/blockdev/zram.html#set-disksize it would seem putting a new size into /sys/block/zram1/disksize should increase its size, but I don't know if it's supported to change that in use, or if it preserves the existing data if you enlarge it (if that matters to you)

if it /does/ preserve the data I suspect it should be fine to do that live, and then do resize2fs if you're using ext4 to expand the filesystem to fit the new size

as for making this all automatic on every boot, I'd look for a systemd unit or a conf file or something that creates the zram device in the first place, and edit it to have the new size

no need to create it, set the old size, then resize it, just edit whatever is already doing the job and just change the size

it looks like it's done under armbian with an armbian-zram-config systemd service, or perhaps armbian-ramlog

I'd check under /etc/default for files relating to those services

there's probably a configuration parameter somewhere in /etc/default/armbian-ramlog

It's just logs so it;s okay

The weird thing is I am missing those folders on my current SDCARD , I just took a new one to redo this, since the upgrade failed
