[Discord] <.thenakedtruth> I like it even more ugly and janky. Put a M.2 to PCIe adapter in a Rock5b or in an OrangePi5+. In the PCIe slot goes a PCIe card that has a ASM2824 and with 4 M.2 slots. Gives you 24 sata ports with these 6 port M.2 sata adapters.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <lanefu> you can get arrested in some countries for that
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <.thenakedtruth> Now imagine you do this with the CM3588 board. 😂 Up to 24 sata ports per M.2 slot makes 96 sata ports.

[Discord] <.thenakedtruth> It won't be fast, but for an endless scaling storage dump good enough.

[Discord] <.thenakedtruth> Looks like this with a dual port ASM2812 powered car

[Discord] <.thenakedtruth> It works fine and stable on the OPi5+. **Not** on the Rock5b though. The Rock5b crashes if there is some good load on on the disk. Many kernel disk errors and the only thing you can do is hard reset.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <.thenakedtruth> Same kernel and I tested with the old 5.10 some time ago and with all 6.x. Therefore I think the Rock5b has somehow a hardware problem with such a crazy setup.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <lanefu> which 6.x?
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <.thenakedtruth> I think it was up to 6.8 rc something.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <.thenakedtruth> But given that I saw the issue also with the 5.10 I guess it is not a pure kernel thing.
