<peterm6881>
have a think about what generic OS might run on the Lichee Zero, with minimal effort
<peterm6881>
we need to offer a hacking distro
<peterm6881>
we could pay Igor Pecovnik an unconfirmed sum, and we might have Armbian in 6-12 months, maybe
<peterm6881>
Thats not an appealing proposition
<Xogium>
sorry, was eating
<Xogium>
well, honestly armbian was my only idea
<Xogium>
I don't know how ubuntu would work, if they'd care at all, and archlinuxarm has 2 or 3 maintainers for the entire distro
<Xogium>
the problem with arm is, there's no generic distro
<Xogium>
they all require their own bootloader, and their own image, and that's enough to no longer be generic
<Xogium>
per board
<Xogium>
its not like x86 where everything is so generic that you can pretty much make it work on any distro out of the box
<Xogium>
even archlinuxarm, with the so-called generic tarball can only do so much… They give you an OS and a kernel, and its up to you to make it all work. That doesn't come with any bootloader, because simply put, there's no generic bootloader
<Xogium>
does that make sense ?
<peterm6881>
yes it does
<peterm6881>
sounds like archlinuxarm might be the low hanging fruit here
<peterm6881>
can you make it work ;)
<peterm6881>
hehe
