a new version of mplayer, 1.5, was release in February 2022. I thought it was going away and mpvs the replacement for it appears mpv, while built on mplayer and mplayer2 (which was basically a stepping stone to mpv), it appears mpv development is simply running in parallel with mplayer
<peterm6881>
mplayer2 disappeared, because its now mpv
<peterm6881>
but like Mark Twain said, "reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated"
<Xogium>

<Xogium>
