<peterm6881> hey xo
<peterm6881> Xogium,
<peterm6881> even
<peterm6881> alsa / mpv is dying in a spectacular way in the latest Armbian on the OPI0
<Xogium> oh ?
<peterm6881> [ao/alsa] Device underrun detected.
<peterm6881> gonna try another player and another stream
<peterm6881> ill try stream first
<peterm6881> by the way it plays for a few minutes, starts stuttering, then gives up
<Xogium> sounds like network issues
<Xogium> packet loss maybe
<peterm6881> arslan says he'll come back to me in an hour
<peterm6881> i said ok how long is your hour?
<peterm6881> as big as my shoes
<Xogium> in the meantime I'll keep researching if there'd be a way we could use eMMC
<peterm6881> also in the meantime, is there a quick and dirty way you could create a fully micro sd image?
<peterm6881> with the whole map
<Xogium> hmm I'll have to rework our stuff
<Xogium> but shouldn't be too hard
<peterm6881> so far ive only sent sc6502 a board, I should build him a proper box
<peterm6881> looks like that alsa issue is the stream, bbc is playing ok so far
<peterm6881> thats annoying, Mellow Mix is my favourite station
<Xogium> nop more likely you have packet loss between you and that mellow stream
<Xogium> you network stutters a bit, a bit and then its too much to handle and bam
<Xogium> that's exactly what used to happen with my server and here when there was like 15% packet loss
<peterm6881> what did you do about it? new network card right?
<Xogium> nop I contacted the provider for my server and they fixed the issue
<peterm6881> yeah its definitely a buffering issue, like you said, packet loss
<peterm6881> im checking if mplayer handles it better, thats what i used to use
<peterm6881> guess what Arslan's day job is?
<peterm6881> ill help you, hes not a shoe salesman
<Xogium> huh no idea
<peterm6881> he services business 3D printers
<Xogium> ahah
<peterm6881> you couldnt make it up
<peterm6881> mplayer is more robust with audio streaming
<peterm6881> doesnt have that issue
<Xogium> or by the time you tried it the packet loss went away :p
<peterm6881> no it was consistent, it did it every single time, after a few minutes, since i went to mpv. Mplayer would occasionally trip out, but typically ran for days. Im gonna move the antenna outside the box, that would help
<peterm6881> but yeah i think ill revert to mplayer, its leaner. MPV is fine on the NEC, i have a playlist
<peterm6881> sounds great on the modified Jedel speakers
<peterm6881> i found the zero ohm links and the no connection pads for R39, R40, R42 and R43
<peterm6881> we can swap R40 to R39, and R42 to R43 if we want to use PA2 / PA3 and switch to UART0
<Xogium> nice
<peterm6881> i have news
<peterm6881> i forwarded you the thread
<peterm6881> Sony in Wales wanna play ball
<peterm6881> Last time I spoke to them somebody called Nabila Williams said they weren't taking on new business at that time, presumably because they were flat out manufacturing Raspberry Pi's
<peterm6881> woohoo, i reversed left and right on the OPi0 expansion board, its physically the wrong way round
<peterm6881> left and right audio
<peterm6881> 7
<peterm6881> If you're using ALSA, Add this to your ~/.asoundrc file:
<peterm6881> pcm.swapped {
<peterm6881> type route
<peterm6881> slave.pcm "cards.pcm.default"
<peterm6881> ttable.0.1 1
<peterm6881> ttable.1.0 1
<peterm6881> }
<peterm6881> pcm.default pcm.swapped
<Xogium> didn't know it was swapped lol
<peterm6881> thats where speaker-test -c2 -t wav is invaluable
<peterm6881> do you use the OPio box with the expansion board?
<peterm6881> OPi0
<peterm6881> if you plug headphones in, the nice lady will tell you front left and front right, but on this board they got them the wrong way round
<peterm6881> note that fix is user specific
<peterm6881> also, you need to reboot for the setting to be applied
<peterm6881> oh, annoyingly it didnt work on the root account. Ah well
<peterm6881> my bad, i missed out the last line
<Xogium> you could have done it in /etc/asound.conf and it would be global
<Xogium> iirc
<Xogium> but don't bet on it, I don't use alsa
<peterm6881> ohh
<peterm6881> its a new file, would that be right?
<Xogium> hmm
<peterm6881> brb
