Do either of you have a machine that's connected online 24/7? If we're going to develop a new speedsaver from the ground up with proprietary code, it needs a home we can all sync from.
<sc6502>
If you have something, then peterm6881 can tell me via Signal, since this is now a visible channel.

sc6502: the thing won't be proprietary
<Xogium>
we're switching hardware platform, that is all
<peterm6881>
sc6502, this machine is online 24/7, this is the file server for the images, when we eventually get rauc up and running
<peterm6881>
I think what sc6502 means is the move away from Navit based code to a reworked version that is entirely our own. The philosophy from the start has been open hardware open source for the Speedsaver project, primarily to encourage the maker comminity to explore alternative use-cases
<peterm6881>
But I'm open to a discussion on whether we go proprietary on brand new code for the core Speedsaver use-case
<peterm6881>
It's the first question an investor would ask, do you own the Intellectual Property on the code. At present, the answer is no, for the simple reason our working prototypes are entirely based on existing open source code
<peterm6881>
With a few tweaks and a better repo
<peterm6881>
I should mention, we've embarked on a feasibility study on the commercial viability of creating a platform for Speedsaver
<peterm6881>
Its way too soon to say whether Arrow are likely to come good on that. At present I have no specific reason to be especially optimistic
