<EnZo> hello, i found that the most new images on https://www.armbian.com/renegade/ dont have a /boot/armbianEnv.txt file. Is this WAD or is it a bug? It brakes at least the armbian-config/SystemSettings/Hardware page.

<ezfox> thanks IgorPec, there the content of the file was corrupted. but in my case it does not exist in the first place. I did download multiple img files and checked them, but all newer imgs, kernel 4.4 and 5.x, buster, focal etc. are affected. If i check some of the older archived versions they still have this file.
<ezfox> i did now create one myself, so it works for me now...will open a bug i think. i found even some more issues...the dtb file is wrongly named and thus not found by armbian-config, the file is named rk3328-roc-cc, but the real name is roc-rk3328-cc. i fixed that by renaming the dtb file. another issue i have is that if i enable the overlay for
<ezfox> 1.4GHz oop, it has no effect, sill 1.3GHz max freq in the /sys/... table. i did not find any open bug threads for this last issue, if someone has any idea, please let me know :)
<ezfox> thinking the overlay might not work, i did add it in the dtb file manually, but also this did not help. still 1.3GHz

<PhotoJim> I have a NanoPi Neo4 board with Armbian on it. been running the 4.4.x -rk3399 kernel. I assume one of the mainline kernels must work on it now but I've no idea what kernel package is the best one for it. any ideas?
ezfox has quit [Ping timeout: 256 seconds]
<lanefu> Should be able to change kernels via armbian-config
<PhotoJim> oh, never thought of that. I'll check that. Thanks.
<PhotoJim> let's see if I broke it. :) (The machine lives at my mother-in-law's house.)
<nekomancer[m]> ho! now complete build of armbian image (with u-boot) on odroid makes bootable image. at least for helios4. good.

<willmore> Has anyone ever asked about a Devaun spin of armbian?
<[TheBug]> the sentiment has generally been if you want that then convert it your self later
<[TheBug]> I doubt Armbian will produce such an image without systemd as I am guessing you want
<[TheBug]> I believe others have asked about it and thats generally been the answer from my recollection willmore
<lanefu> Yeah the old school debian idealogues will have to do the work. But you're not the first to ask
<lanefu> There's some systemd fork that's super minimalist... I'd probably go that route as a compromise
