<Armbian-Discord> <NeonFetch> bug, this is my build
<Armbian-Discord> <NeonFetch> test it whenever you can
<Armbian-Discord> <NeonFetch> I will try to use a more powerful PSU down the road
<Armbian-Discord> <NeonFetch> but I had never had power issues from linux
<Armbian-Discord> <NeonFetch> and even then , I dont think its a power issue
<Armbian-Discord> <NeonFetch> its on autologin

<Armbian-Discord> <NicoD> For my own means I use Supertuxkart to benchmark performance of panfrost. I turn on the fps, set display res to 1080p and full screen. All other graphics settings I leave. Then I start a football match with the grass field. The average fps is what I use to see differences. I also test the first race. I did try glxgears and glmark2 but didn't get useful information with this over different devices/distributions. The same de
<Armbian-Discord> too big differences with different images. No idea what's going on with it. I've not tried VPU on RK3399, I was waiting for news to try it and make a video about it.

<Armbian-Discord> <NeonFetch> Only minimyths2 have mainline vpu afaik. But I also have no idea what is that neither (what are the use cases of that distro, peobably something like a plex server)
<Armbian-Discord> <NeonFetch> I tested manjaro xfce and the performance was way below expectations, worst than the zero
<Armbian-Discord> <NeonFetch> Also tested kde, abd was unstable as fuck
<Armbian-Discord> <NeonFetch> And gnome was just a bit better than xfce
* stipa TSMC Hikes Price of Chip Production: CPU & GPU Costs Set to Rise / https://www.tomshardware.com/news/tsmc-ups-chip-production-prices-by-10-to-20-percent
<stipa> what predictions they have, what about a one where no one will buy anything
<Armbian-Discord> <NicoD> It's not about what it's worth, but how much will they pay.
<stipa> you mean on the chip manufacturing materials?
<Armbian-Discord> <NicoD> I mean on the CPUs and GPUs.
<Armbian-Discord> <NicoD> Those with the biggest pockets get their products.
<stipa> allrite, that's also an alternative outcome
<stipa> i guess the crisis is for everyone, especially those for deep pockets
<stipa> with deep*
<stipa> and existing hardware people have is good enough to keep the world afloat
<stipa> with that approach they have the fabs could be closed, in their place i would leave the prices or even go lower since it's crisis
<stipa> i would sacrifice on speed of hardware
<stipa> or cut corners somewhere to keep the fabs in good shape
<stipa> keeping the profits at the same level as before by rising the prices is a stupid idea
<stipa> it's crisis in case they haven't noticed
<stipa> it's not economical at all
<stipa> but that is to expect
<stipa> too bad fabs will be gone
Redentor has joined #armbian
<stipa> but they can always lower down the prices if no one will buy
<stipa> the question is would people buy even then
<stipa> if not they'll be in deep shit
<nekomancer[m]> Nobody will buy cpu after death of computer manufacturers.
<nekomancer[m]> They only part of a chain, and have no value without complete chain
<nekomancer[m]> People don't eats cpu.
<nekomancer[m]> As nobody need car tires without cars.
<stipa> no sales no chain
<stipa> it all depends on the buyer
<stipa> if there will be any
<stipa> they for some reson don't get that
<stipa> and play with a fire
<stipa> you can't rise price by 20% and present it to a buyer
<stipa> that's a sucide
<stipa> especially when there's mega tons of hardware zhrown away for no reason
<e3ef13f4ff44> this isn't my post
<e3ef13f4ff44> but
<e3ef13f4ff44> the issue is that iptables is now using nftables in the kernel instead of xtables
<e3ef13f4ff44> on legacy kernel nftables is turned off completely
<e3ef13f4ff44> probably the config isn't touched since copying it from orangepi buildscripts
