<Guest19> Hi is here somebody working with the lattice ecp5 fpga?
<tnt> yeah
<Guest19> I just bought an ecp5-evaluation board from lattice, and i want to program it with open-source tools, because in one year i have to pay for lattice-diamond to program the board
<Guest19> now i installed yosys and nextpnr and set up prjtrellis. So far the most things work
<Guest19> but when i program the board, it seems to stop after a few seconds.
<Guest19> i have flashed a blinky example, but it blinks only 3 times and stops then
<Guest19> how would be your approach to debug this behaviour?
<Guest19> Or is there any other place, where i could get help?

<xiretza[m]> that's really weird - it does work fine with lattice tools, right?

Guest96 has quit [Client Quit]
<Guest19> i didn't try yet
<Guest19> i have installed the lattice programmer already, but that doesn't find the board. I'am going to install lattice diamond now (i got an 1 year nodelocked license for the board)
<Guest19> another wierd thing is, if i press the reset button, the demo-program starts again (shouldn't this be erased after first flash?)
<xiretza[m]> not unless you overwrite the SPI flash, by default programming the FPGA only writes the configuration to SRAM
<Guest19> ah yes makes sense
<Guest19> hmm can't get lattice diamond so fast, because there is an error on the licensing page ...

<xiretza[m]> nope

<thardin> is it possible to have yosys synthesize to discrete 74xx logic?
<thardin> I don't see anything readymade for it
Guest19 has quit [Quit: Client closed]
<thardin> sounds like the opposite of what I'm after (:
<thardin> or maybe not
<tnt> It does what you want, however the synthesis script is outdated and doesn't work with newer yosys AFAICT

<thardin> ic_count.py doesn't seem to get the count right for counter.v
<thardin> which generates two 74161's but the script says 8
<thardin> looks like it might come in useful anyway, thanks
