has anyone experience with Guix or Nix here? How would you contrast the approaches taken by these projects vs OpenEmbedded/Yocto?

one of the things that stand out to me is that Yocto's only mode of build is to cross-compile things, while Guix and Nix first and foremost build things natively (though some of their builders also support cross-compilation)

Hi. I'm trying to add the doubleopen layer (for SBOM) to yocto. Some recipes start to fail because of missing build time dependencies (specifically xz is a command not found). I've defined a .bbappend for the problematic recipe where I do DEPEND += "xz-native", with no luck.

I've tried to run `bitbake -c devshell myrecipe` btw, and check if xz is there. It is there.

hey I added tools-debug to extra image features and getting: 'tools-debug' in IMAGE_FEATURES (added via EXTRA_IMAGE_FEATURES) is not a valid image feature. has this change in any current version, I migrated from zeus to kirkstone

the default will go to 6.1, once the h/w references are stable, and I'll remove 5.19 from master.
