Hi, I built a core-image-full-cmdline linux image and, when running bitbake, it builds grub, but when booting it uses systemd-boot. How can I make the EFI boot be grub instead?

ernstp: An interesting idea. I will have a longer look with a test to find out what it generates. I have been doing something like that manually in post-processing. I'd like to make sure we include all libraries that have been linked in (statically for example). Prefer to have too many packages reported than not enough... Another comment is that we break backward compatibility :) I'm also wondering if it would be a good idea to add this
<mrybczyn[m]>
information to the JSON file itself, this way we can mark packages related to toolchain too (can be useful for people who deliver toolchains). BTW we also have a refactoring of the cve-check code pending for better testability, but I will review it only after the todays YPS presentation
<mrybczyn[m]>
ernstp: I'm also wondering how to integrate this work with the SPDX work

I do not understand the reason why the library is removed?

Yes I did, it came from this commit 5a9e1224e759795b3ba4ad9740659a4c527b4a2f but no explanation. The commit is from May 2021

I have a package murata-binaries which includes a complementary package murata-binaries-mfgtest. I would like to exclude the -mfgtest package in one of our distros. How can I do that? I saw PACKAGE_EXCLUDE_COMPLEMENTARY in the docs and a mailing list, but I think I'm holding it wrong.

Hey. After inheriting image-buildinfo, /etc/build looks like `meta-oe = <unknown>:<unknown>`. Any tips on where to look for the cause?
<kroon_>
sashko_, git permission problems ?
<LAZIBI>
hey, I wanna add vpn to my embedded image, just using commands(no graphical stuff), any idea about a good approach ?
<sashko_>
LAZIBI: elaborate what "add vpn" means, pleae
<sashko_>
kroon: I don't think so - I can checkout all of the meta-layers on the same machine with no problems
<LAZIBI>
sashko_: I meant, that I wanna connect to connect the embedded device to a vpn for a remote update
<sashko_>
so, you need a vpn client, config and automatic way to connect to the vpn network?
<LAZIBI>
yes!
ljh has quit [Ping timeout: 248 seconds]
<sashko_>
1. add openvpn client to the image; 2. supply it with config file; 3. configure your network manager or whatever you use to connect automatically
<sashko_>
perhaps step 3 is not even needed
<kroon_>
sashko_, whatabout when bitbake is running under pseudo ?
<kroon_>
which is what all the noise has been about lately
<LAZIBI>
thanks sashko_
<sashko_>
kroon: never used it before; what should I do to test it?
<LAZIBI>
sashko_ I found out that openvpn client doesn't support the sstp protocol, which is needed in my case
<kroon_>
sashko_, try running "git status" in the repos from within a recipe devshell
<sashko_>
LAZIBI: in this case you need to look for sstp client. I'm not aware of any.

<kroon_>
sashko_, can you reproduce it with and without pseudo from a devshell ? You can disable pseudo with "PSEUDO_UNLOAD=1 git diff ..."
<sashko_>
actually, it's `set -e` that closes the term, not a crash
<sashko_>
`PSEUDO_UNLOAD=1 git diff` works fine
<kroon_>
running "which git" in the devshell, does it point to the git intercept ?
<kroon_>
or is it the system version of git
<sashko_>
poky/scripts/git-intercept/git
<kroon_>
well if it crashes I guess you need to debug it in gdb
<sashko_>
ignore the crash comment - I was wrong
<kroon_>
ok. but it fails with an error code, whats the error ?
<sashko_>
it doesn't . it runs `export PSEUDO_UNLOAD=1; set -e; git diff --quiet --no-ext-diff` and closes the term
