<tlwoerner> moto-timo: was it the \n ?

<fiorentinoing> As a sidenote, I've to say I cannot enable x11 as DISTRO_FEATURES, as you can imagine

<moto-timo> Please use pastebin instead of pasting so many lines (and repeats) in IRC
<Saur[m]> fiorentinoing: classpath is not a recipe in OE-Core or OpenEmbedded, and neither is libmatthew so it's hard for us to help you. What can be said from the above log is that it seems that classpath requires that x11 is set in DISTRO_FEATURES, which you apparently haven't got.
<moto-timo> most likely the problem is classpath depends on gtk+ which has an x11 PACKAGECONFIG. which is turned on by default: http://cgit.openembedded.org/meta-openembedded/tree/meta-oe/recipes-gnome/gtk+/gtk+.inc?h=master#n24
<fiorentinoing> Saur[m]: that's right. I cannot enable this DISTRO_FEATURE, though.
<moto-timo> you need to turn off the gtk+ x11 PACKAGECONFIG. (Define your own gtk+_%.bbappend with PACKAGECONFIG = ...) remove x11
<fiorentinoing> gtk+ is the culprit, I'll try to add a PACKAGECONFIG_remove_pn-gtk+ = "x11" in conf/local.conf then
<moto-timo> better to put it in a bbappend in a layer...
<Saur[m]> Well, you're going to have to do something about the `REQUIRED_DISTRO_FEATURES = "x11"` in classpath as well...
<fiorentinoing> I'll bbappend both, hope this help
<fiorentinoing> Thanks
<moto-timo> yeah, both gtk+ and classpath need some more knobs to not force x11 dependence. That is so last decade.
<moto-timo> the reason I reinforce bbappend and not local.conf is I have personally seen vendors ship 400 line local.conf with their "BSP". Do not do this. Ever.
<moto-timo> (400 variables set in special brittle ways compared to a normal local.conf template)
<fiorentinoing> we are still under 70.. bbappend is the way, it's clear

<kroon> I've just started trying out using podman and containers to build yocto images. I'd like to share DL_DIR between different containers and also with native (non-container) builds. But I am running into issues with permission errors. Is there a best practice here ? PREMIRRORS with file urls maybe ?
Notgnoshi has quit []
<fiorentinoing> kroon the user id (uid) should be the same (it helps a lot)

<kroon> fiorentinoing, yeah I can see how that helps with container-to-container interactions. But I think the clashes I see are between container and non-container builds
<kroon> there the uids can't be the same, as I understand it

<JPEW> kroon: they can be there same, but it takes some magic. We do it in pyrex
<JPEW> That allows you to share sstate, dl_dir, and even -native tools from builddir with the magic of uninative
