Hi! Question regarding Nokogiri - what would cause `at_css()` call to return "nil" even if the XML file I'm parsing has the element/text I'm searching for?
<srinidhi>
using `at_css`, I can search for elements. but most elements return "nil" - is there any steps I should be using to debug this further?
<srinidhi>
or does `at_css()` set a seek level in the XML document?
<jhass[m]>
srinidhi: many reasons are possible (wrong base node you call on, bad selector, fun with XML namespaces...) Best would be if you can look into making a self contained gist that shows the input, your code, actual output and expected output
<srinidhi>
sure. thank you, jhass[m]!
<srinidhi>
the thing is, when I try this in an irb session, everything works as expected.
<srinidhi>
but I'm parsing content in a VM mounted by guestfs-tools. Only inside that environment, it is failing.
<jhass[m]>
then you're not replicating the issue exactly :)
<srinidhi>
let me check if the memory is the problem

<srinidhi>
nope. I increased the memory of the VM from the default 512MB to 1024MB - but still getting "nil"

jhass[m]: thank you for pushing me to create a test case! I figured out the problem. The thing is the script was searching the same string twice - the second call was returning a nil
<jhass[m]>
Perfect, good find! :)

hey all, we've got got postgres migrations set up with standalone_migrations, but we've run into a case where we want to import data from Redis as part of the migration. is there functionality/references for this, or do I need to manually connect to the other source in the migration code?
