Thanks beneroth for the info!
<abu[m]>
I don't remember what was the state in 221.3, it was an early version of pil21
<abu[m]>
@doc/ChangeLog says on 04jan22: "Bug in 'name' for external symbols"
<abu[m]>
So this is it probably
<abu[m]>
Was fixed with changes in lines 204 and 515 of @src/sym.l

abu[m], ah nice! good we know what it was :D
<beneroth>
there are not sooo many use cases for (name), so maybe it's not noticed usually with the Ubuntu package.
<beneroth>
but it was a real WTF to debug xD
<beneroth>
abu[m], for pil64 -> pil21 on that application I only had to adapt some uses of (arg) and add fmt64 which you removed from misc.l (I assume the ext:Base64 would be the official replacement?)
<beneroth>
so besides the name issue it was easy and quick

I think fmt64 is obsolete, iirc it was used only for pil32 external symbols
<abu[m]>
ext:Base64 is different, i.e. the standard Base64 encodings

<beneroth>
abu[m], you're surely right. I just happened to use fmt64 in that application for some reason. A kind of token. No issue.
