hello openocd team, and *thank* *you* for freeing me from the claws of the SEGGER JLinkMiniEDU EULA :)
<josuah>
I can now work guilt-free with RTT logs, flashing, gdb server... from my st-link/v2 with OpenOCD on JLink-first hardware from Nordic
<josuah>
shame on me for using JLink Mini EDU for work in the first place, but without which we would not have *any* JLink support for JLink... so I think the would not mind.

Hello. I'm trying to a Atmel SAM4S4 (at91sam4sXX.cfg) target using Atmel-ICE (CMSIS-DAP) with JTAG. It fails with the first error being "JTAG scan chain interrogation failed: all ones". I'm fairly sure the physical connection is properly working, because i snatched a windows PC with Atmel Studio and could connect to the target with it.

simon_: hi
<PaulFertser>
simon_: all ones literally means that the input pin of the jtag adapter only sees high level. So either the target is not powered or it's in a state where JTAG is disabled etc.
<PaulFertser>
simon_: do you have a reset button on the target, probably try starting OpenOCD while holding it?
<PaulFertser>
simon_: are you sure you're using JTAG and not SWD with Atmel Studio?

Hey PaulFertser, thanks, i will try to connect while holding reset. Yes i tested atmel studio with JTAG. I have 2 versions of a board where the same chip has either JTAG or SWD interface. The SWD version works perfectly. But to a JTAG board i can connect only with Atmel studio.
<PaulFertser>
simon_: let's see what the test with reset gives. I'm mostly familiar with stm32, there the trick works wonders.

Well, connect under manual reset changed nothing. :( Here's the full log. https://pastebin.mozilla.org/X5GmP7ec There are some more errors but i believe they are all caused by the first one. The first one certainly does look like a bad cabling or wrong interface. But as said this same setup worked with atmel studio.
<simon_>
Hmm, I just double-checked and it is connecting with atmel studio too anymore. Maybe i do have some loose wire somewhere. I will make more tests on monday with different hardware. Thanks
