Hello everyone, has anyone experience with the JT 37x7/TSI boundary-scan controller? Any chance OpenOCD can use it as a debug adapter?
<PaulFertser>
gautaz: hi. Is that supported by any other software?
<PaulFertser>
gautaz: do you know what's inside?
<gautaz>
You mean apart from the orginal windows software provided by the manufacturer? I did not found any yet :-).
<gautaz>
I have pictures of what's inside: an Altera cyclone, an Altera EP1K50FC484-1N, an Altera EPM3256ATC144-7N...
<PaulFertser>
gautaz: the only remotely similar thing supported by OpenOCD is Altera USB Blaster.
<gautaz>
OK, is there any leads I can follow in order to perhaps understand how this box works ?
<PaulFertser>
gautaz: wireshark can capture USB traffic on windows.
<PaulFertser>
gautaz: and boundary-scan windows software should be able to play back SVF and it's a simple enough format so you can use a text editor and give it simple SVF commands and see what USB protocol looks like.
<PaulFertser>
gautaz: you can also run windows software in a VM and capture USB on GNU/Linux host I guess.
<gautaz>
Thanks @PaulFertser, I will start with that, qemu then :-)
<PaulFertser>
gautaz: good luck! Basically, all you need to know is JTAG state machine diagram and then read SVF file format reference.
<PaulFertser>
gautaz: to see an example of a protocol you can take a look at public j-link protocol docs.
<gautaz>
Just found the docs, lots to dive in, thanks!
