<macromorgan> anyone get eMMC writing working with U-Boot on the Rock 5B? I seem to be able to read just fine, but get an error when I try to do an "mmc write" command

<Kwiboo> macromorgan: Eugen reported similar issue and I was able to reproduce on rk3568 but did not dig any more into it, see https://lore.kernel.org/u-boot/e9c0d645-6138-fcfa-3a72-74880a9e7525@kwiboo.se/
<Kwiboo> please try with CONFIG_MMC_SPEED_MODE_SET=y and "mmc dev 0 0 <mode>" with a mode=0/1/3 to see if slower mode/speed instead of default MMC DDR52 (52MHz) mode helps
<macromorgan> thanks, I'll try that

<Kwiboo> macromorgan: did a emmc write on my pinetab2 using "load mmc 1:1 10000000 u-boot-rockchip.bin", "mmc dev 0" and "mmc write $fileaddr 40 5000" to load u-boot-rockchip.bin from SD and write to eMMC, result: "MMC write: dev # 0, block # 64, count 20480 ... 20480 blocks written: OK"
<Kwiboo> for that test the emmc module was using "Mode: HS200 (200MHz)"
<macromorgan> doesn't seem to make a difference
<macromorgan> I'll have to play with it more... this is a RK3588 device using mainline SPL/U-Boot with a binary A-TF and TPL
<macromorgan> I tried hard coding the pinmux config to no avail... for the 3568 that seemed to solve my problems
