<krzk> GNUtoo: you could try with exposed pins, e.g. gpx2-3 used for LED. Disable it in DTS and play manually...

<GNUtoo> krzk: the issue is that I don't get that behavior with the exposed pins, everything is fine for the flash leds
<GNUtoo> The device I use is the Galaxy SIII (GT-I9300), and the issue I have is with the suspend-req GPIO which is connected to the modem (gpm2-4)
<GNUtoo> The background information is that I picked up Simon Shield's work on the modem and managed to port it to more recent kernels and I cleaned up a bit the code which apparently was not validated
<GNUtoo> *and apparently it was not validated
<GNUtoo> like I can get the same behavior than Simon, where I can boot the modem and interact with it and even get the IMEI, the SIM card is also initialized and so on, but for some reason it doesn't go out of low power mode,
<GNUtoo> and to get calls and so on I need full power
<GNUtoo> One of the GPIO is called suspend-req AND that the GPIO configuration is different for this pin between the 3.18 SMDK kernel from LineageOS/Replicant and the 5.10-rc2 kernel we use with this modem code
<GNUtoo> And when I try to change the configuration from high to low or or from low to high, once the modem initialization is finished, I can't on either sides (SMDK or 3.18)
<GNUtoo> What is strange is that the GPIO configuration does change during the modem intialization
<GNUtoo> I could still try to get a cheap device and unsolder the modem pins though, but I'm not good at unsoldering things

<GNUtoo> And by GPIO configuration I include pull up/down configuration and drive strength. I've not looked in depth at the sleep configuration though.
