<lvrp16> I can ask to see if I get any answers
<minute> lvrp16: cool, thanks
<lvrp16> minute: we turned a bunch of mipi displays as well, do you know what display you're trying to work
jacobk has joined #linux-amlogic
<minute> lvrp16: this is the display http://dump.mntmn.com/TOP070F01A.pdf
<minute> lvrp16: it's a replacement for JDI lt070me05000 (same physical size + resolution) but with a different driver chip
<minute> so timing/blankings and init sequence are different
<minute> i got lt070me05000 to work fine with a311d a longer time ago... but with this new display the output is horizontally wrapped
<minute> but both displays work with imx8mplus and rk3588, so a311d is doing something different here
<minute> (not on a311d though, display v1 works but v2 not)
<minute> (v1 = JDI, v2 = TOP)
<minute> the driver chip of the new display is erised ER88477
<minute> datasheet for that driver chip: http://dump.mntmn.com/ER88477_Preliminary_v0.0.0_20210715.pdf
<minute> lvrp16: maybe with all this info they should be able to say something?
<minute> lvrp16: that's the one that works but we had to replace it now because it's EOL and you can get only second hand stock where a big amount has issues
<lvrp16> Did waveshare have a display? We did one 1920x1200 i think. Forgot which panel.
<minute> maybe a five inch? or they also sold JDI at some point? it was popular for some raspi projects, had been in nexus 7 tablet
<lvrp16> Yeah EOL is a pita with panels. Always go with BOE.
<lvrp16>
<minute> lvrp16: boe produce forever? ^^

<lvrp16> For mainstream resolutions and sizes, Chinese distributors and resellers stock vast quantities.
