I just figured out that using foot via waypipe gives me a near-native experience, as opposed to alacritty whose perf over waypipe was abysmal. I presume this to be because foot has damage tracking, whereas alacritty just redraws the whole OpenGL surface. Thank you for making such a great terminal emulator! <3
<raiguard>
(the reason I'm using waypipe to send pixels instead of just ssh-ing into the PC is because I need to create multiple remote terminals from within my editor and occasionally run a GUI app)
<vyivel>
alacritty tracks damage as well
<raiguard>
Well, there goes that theory
<raiguard>
Regardless of the cause, foot is lightning-fast where alacritty is slow and laggy. It's a mystery.

hey :) wondering if you folks had any idea on this (i've been struggling with it since i basically started using foot). my nerd fonts never seem to work unless i use the patched version, as they seem to be mismatched in terms of sizing?
<nezia>
not too sure what im doing wrong. im on the latest version of foot
<nezia>
e.g. where i should have full-sized rounded corners in neovim im getting tiny circles
<nezia>
(it does not matter whether or not i use the mono version of Symbols Nerd Font btw) https://pastebin.com/7t2ZAfBE here's what i have for my fonts
