<davidlt[m]>
well, there will be a new one, just as-is the existing stuff is dead
<rwmjones>
hmm that is really interesting
<davidlt[m]>
They plan to have something new (different SoC) for 2022 Q1
<davidlt[m]>
Also StarFive seems to partnering with multiple new companies too, I think expecting something to show up on 2021 Q3
<davidlt[m]>
Thus basically SW/FW work done on BeagleV is not lost and will probably continue on a number of different platforms from different vendors
<defolos>
davidlt[m]: how is that different from all the other pikvm projects out there?
<davidlt[m]>
defolos: Others were DIY by anyone, this is the HW from the project itself, they finally reached a good enough state

pulls out the credit card
<davidlt[m]>
I will probably wait after the Kickstarter :)
<davidlt[m]>
But seems they managed to collect loads of money already (surprised)
<pierce>
<defolos> "another paperweight on my desk :..." <- I wouldn't consider my BeagleV a paperweight, I personally still test things on native hardware without needing to power up the Unmatched

There is also the nezha board. it is slower than beaglev but more stable for me.
