<r0ni>
upgraded system from 3.7 using latest 3.8 iso and at boot it complains there's no libcrypt.so.2, imma chroot in and see if i can fix it, but so far thats my upgrade experience on amd64
<beerman>
You might be missing libxcrypt
<r0ni>
isn't that lib in glibc package?
<cruxbridge>
<pitillo (@pitillo:crux.nu)> Not now as far as I’ve seen yesterday preparing arm 32b
<cruxbridge>
<pitillo (@pitillo:crux.nu)> It’s provided by libxcrypt (core port)
<r0ni>
huh, i really need to get back into the swing of things heh oh well, thats an easy fix
<beerman>
glibc disables their own libcrypt now, iirc. It's linked on the Todo 3.8 page
<cruxbridge>
<jloc0> Well seems that wasn’t the only package missing from my core install… 4th reboot/chroot now lol
<cruxbridge>
<jloc0> I dunno how the installer is setup but maybe it should check for not installed core pkgs and install them?
<cruxbridge>
<jloc0> (During upgrading)
<cruxbridge>
<jloc0> Guess that’s the joy of upgrading in-place tho
<cruxbridge>
<jloc0> I’m in! Success!
<beerman>
Nice!
<beerman>
I think it already checks for new stuff
<cruxbridge>
<jloc0> Hrm, well libbsd, libmd, and libxcrypt were not installed/upgraded preventing login. The nature of the game, I guess. Next I need to get a real arm64 install functioning
<beerman>
Maybe there is a problem with upgrade then, if this is not a fresh installation?

rc3 is missing stuff in setup-helper, here is what we've created after rc3 was announced -> https://dpaste.com/HSBVUKKE8

I'll build an rc4 soon since there have been a few things found and the setup-helper changes.
<beerman>
can we make room for the mm-stuff changes farkuhar pitched on the ml still? I guess a change can happen without that as well, but the chance is good to make it smooth for people that have it installed

I don't have a strong opinion on the renames, which means no objection

<jloc0> For sure I may of had better luck on a fresh install. My installed ports are newer than last sync even. But rebuilding my way out, see if I can get it full-on working again eventually.
