(looks at logs) "weird how #zig got seized... and that channel moved within the first 12 hours of libera going up i think"
<pfdietz>
So, move #zig for great justice?

Significantly faster than cl-json. It helped to customize the string => keyword mapping for the case I was looking at, though.

Nice. It is fast. That's what I was looking for: fast decoding.

Hi, forgot we swapped rooms
<Josh_2>
where can I find CL devs to do odd jobs? paid ofc
<tux0r>
all CL devs do odd jobs (write CL)
<Josh_2>
well
<Shinmera>
I presume for the right price you could already have found people :)
<mrcom>
Josh_2: It would be nice if there was a blog tied into Planet Lisp.
<Josh_2>
Well this is the first time I've even tested the water Shinmera
<Josh_2>
mrcom: a blog for what? To say that I might want to hire someone?
<mrcom>
Why don't you post a couple of lines describing, with some kind of payment range.
<Josh_2>
ah I see
<Josh_2>
Yeh I could do that
<mrcom>
Josh_2: I was thinking of a more general bulletin board. Short messages with a bit of lifetime, a bit more sticky than an IRC post.

How do I get my blog into planet lisp?
<mrcom>
Email to xach@xach.com.
<Josh_2>
okay
<mrcom>
Xach: What would you think about a bot that collected tagged IRC messages, added them to a bulletin-board blog, which then went to Planet Lisp?
<Shinmera>
sounds ripe for spam or accidental posting, etc. IRC is a bad authoring protocol, since you can't even edit.
<mrcom>
Xach: something along lines of "bbot: expire-in 1 week; I've got 5 free t-shirts with funny CL quote. Contact me on #commonlisp if interested."
<mrcom>
Shinmera: Yeah, was thinking about that.
<Shinmera>
there's other options for stuff like that, surely.
<mrcom>
All ears :)
<Shinmera>
could even just use a github repo with issue tickets or something.
<Josh_2>
^
<mrcom>
Interesting thought, but seems even harder to moderate.
<Shinmera>
far less interesting for us programmers, but far bigger of a problem than how to author this stuff is how to get people to even see things.
<Shinmera>
most of these things are just not gonna attract anyone because nobody knows about it unless you put a lot of boring work into it to make it known.
<Josh_2>
Fortunately for me I only need CL devs to see it
<mrcom>
Don't have a general solution. Craigslist or something, maybe. Was thinking about a more targeted solution for Lisp etc. community.
<Shinmera>
the "lisp community" is not much of a community and more of a loosely tied together global interest group with no real way of reaching everyone.
<Shinmera>
If you mean "#commonlisp participants" then just make a paste for the details and post about it here. done.
<mrcom>
Problem with just a plain IRC post is that it's very ephemeral. Pretty close to real-time only. I wouldn't think people dig through logs unless looking for something specific.
