<verm__>
so the OSL had a power outage some days ago something has happened to the machine IPMI is not working, either
<verm__>
i'll get ahold of the OSL and ask for someone to physically look at the screen to see what's going on. IPMI isn't showing anything and the KVM console isn't working

oh well. if even the ipmi is dead .. sounds pretty bad.
<cmouse>
if the server has actual separate service card/processor and it's dead, then the server is dead.
<flx-->
maybe just the PSU died
flx-- is now known as flx
<cmouse>
single psu server?
<flx>
no idea, just a guess. only verm can tell
<cmouse>

<verm__>
no that's not the problem
<verm__>
the machine is fine it's ipmiview that's broken on my machine i have no idea what's wrong
<cmouse>
ah
<verm__>
i need to fix it i will be trying this afternoon after my meetings
<verm__>
i really hate windows.
<verm__>
well not hate .. i just find it unfortunate sometimes it just randomly breaks i hardly use this machine just via ssh to build software but the UI and windows update will grenade itself often
<cmouse>
maybe move buildbot docs into S3?
<verm__>
we own these machines, they're setup and the hosting is free
<cmouse>
fair enough
<verm__>
also it's been working great for 7 years not going to consider switching because it's been down for a couple of days. :)
<verm__>
weird it works for some machines but others it doesn't i'm going to have to get the OSL to go look at it, this hasn't happened before
<verm__>
going to try and cold reset the BMC and see if that fixes it
