Which devices run armlinux? I want to buy one.

<ukleinek>
siak: Most devices with an ARM SoC I'd say.
<ukleinek>
siak: what to pick really depends on your usecase. You want a devboard for tinkering? Something suitable for the livingroom with hdmi output? A router? A Desktop replacement? A NAS?
<Xogium>
now a lot of devices might run, but there's also a whole lot of them that are awful and use a kernel from vendor

Soemthing like a tablet I guess
<Xogium>
ooh boy
<Xogium>
better stick to android for tablets I think. I've never seen a tablet running linux
<javierm_>
Xogium, siak: the HP X2 Chromebook (that's a tablet + detachable keyboard form factor) has good upstream support
<Xogium>
huh. Interesting
<javierm_>
it uses a QCom SC7180 SoC that's well supported in mainline
<javierm_>
I've Fedora running and the only missing piece is audio, probably some UCM profile missing but I didn't investigate
<Xogium>
UCM is a *nightmare*
<Xogium>
I tried to get that going for a board once, no matter what I came up with it never worked right, and my UCM was simply ignored
<Xogium>
I hate alsa configuration over all because I find it very arcahic so I'd have taken pulseaudio/pipewire over it, even for an embedded system, but since that requires UCM, I kind of gave up on it
<javierm_>
I remember not being trivial as well many moons ago when I wanted to get audio working on a different board. Hence why I have been procrastinating looking at this
<Xogium>
I just use pure alsa tbh on embedded systems
<Xogium>
it doesn't have a hard requirement on UCM being operational
<siak>
Looks nice.
<javierm_>
siak: the PinePhone Pro is also nice, it's not a tablet but the phone has an official keyboard case which could make turn it into a small computer
<javierm_>
that uses a Rockchip rk3399 SoC which is also very well supported upstream
