mvaittin: if you suspect it's a size issue, try disabling something big like CONFIG_PCI first, if that doesn't work you can try disabling all CONFIG_ARCH_* options other than the one you are going to use

arnd: I doubt it's because of the size. It seems to me a booting zImage is bigger than a failing one
