<gpiccoli> Hey folks, not sure if the proper place to ask (but since I face this problem in arm board, here it goes..): is there a way to blacklist a platform driver? Does it make sense?
<gpiccoli> I'm facing an issue and seems the only way to stop this driver from running is..to not build this driver! Platform probe happens in "alternative" path, not subject to module_blacklist nor initcall_blacklist it seems...
<javierm_> gpiccoli: you can deny list a platform driver with initcall_blacklist=foobar_platform_driver_init
<gpiccoli> haaa! awesome javierm_ , thanks a bunch!
<gpiccoli> I tried the probe function, dumb me heh
<javierm_> gpiccoli: yeah, the probe function is a callback, not an initcall function
<gpiccoli> so foobar is the module name right?
<javierm_> gpiccoli: foobar_platform_driver is the name of the struct platform_driver
<javierm_> gpiccoli: if you are not sure, you can boot with "initcall_debug" in your kernel cmdline
<javierm_> and grep from the kernel log the proper initcall function name
<javierm_> but if you do that, probably also increase the default log_buf_len (i.e: log_buf_len=8M) since there will be a log of printous in the kernel log :)
<gpiccoli> right! perfect, makes sense...output is a bit messy though, so I'm trying to figure the name from code
<gpiccoli> oh sure! indeed
<javierm_> gpiccoli: if you want to figure out from code, must add a _init to the platform driver name

<gpiccoli> I think what's happening here is that there is a generic driver calling "sub-drivers", but I can blacklist the parent, it's fine
<gpiccoli> tnx a bunch for the help, much appreciate =)
