<arnd> tmlind, broonie: going through the list of legacy boards that got removed over time, I found that sound/soc/ti/omap3pandora.c still checks for machine_is_omap3_pandora(), but that is never true on DT based boot.
<arnd> linusw_: arch/arm/mm/init.c has a similar check for machine_is_integrator() that is never true any more
<linusw_> arnd: good morning! OK I'll look at it!
<arnd> arch/arm/mach-orion5x/board-mss2.c seems to have lost its PCI support this way
<arnd> there are about a dozen other cases, but the rest all look harmless, they have checks like "if (A || B || C)", where A and B were removed but C is still possible

<arnd> linusw_: I had another look myself now and found that this code dates back to when integrator was first added. Apparently there was a bug that made it crash when __init got freed because of an incorrect annotation. This can clearly be removed now

<tmlind> arnd: looks like omap3_pandora_legacy_init() is not initializing any platform data either for audio

<tmlind> hmm i guess the pdata is set up by sound/soc/ti/omap-mcbsp.c
<tmlind> actually the other way around.. omap3pandora_soc_init() sets up the pdata for omap-mcbsp i guess
<tmlind> nope, no use for asoc-ti-mcbsp.h there, seems like this thing has been broken for something like 10 years
<tmlind> arnd: i'll send a mail, let's see if grazvydas is interested in fixing it

<mwalle> mhh, there is fwnode_for_each_child_node() and fwnode_for_each_available_child_node(), but the of backend will already filter disabled child nodes: https://elixir.bootlin.com/linux/v5.19-rc3/source/drivers/of/property.c#L960
<mwalle> I'm not sure if that can be changed, without breaking things :/

<arnd> I assume we can delete most of them, as discussed before. The question is which ones are still worth keeping around?
<arnd> tmlind: I've already marked the omap1 boards that have qemu support, which are the ones that actually still exist in hardware?
<arnd> linusw_: you looked at ep93xx not that long ago, do you have any of those? or any other ones you want to keep?

<tmlind> arnd: most likely board-ams-delta, board-osk and board-nokia770 are the only ones anybody cares to use nowadays, i doubt anybody is working on the palms
